The Committee considered a report on the above application to confirm the provisional Tree Preservation Order (TPO) 2015/02.

 

The Tree Officer confirmed the trees which were under the TPO were lime trees, and that the TPO was being proposed due to the public benefit from the trees. An intent to fell the trees had been received and was investigated as they are within a conservation areas. One tree had been felled and was being investigated.

 

Mr Gary Hall and Mr Victor Stopp, objectors, addressed the meeting under Standing Order 31.

 

The principal issues raised by Mr Hall were:-

·         A document outlining objections had been submitted to committee members ahead of the meeting.

·         The trees will be preserved as the plans were modified after receiving a letter from the tree officer.

·         The area had been cleared of flytipping.

·         The building had been placed there to encourage more business to the area.

·         New fencing and gates had been put in position.

 

The principal issues raised by Mr Stopp were:-

·         A document outlining objections had been submitted to committee members ahead of the meeting.

·         Important to encourage business and employment.

 

In response to member questions Mr Hall confirmed that the trees would be maintained and that he was no longer objecting to the Tree Preservation Order.

 

The Committee noted that Danbury Mews did require improvement, but that trees were important and should be preserved.

 

A poll vote on the officers’ recommendation to grant permission was held in accordance with Standing Order 31.4, when there voted:

 

To grant (10)      Councillors Samantha Bourne, Mary Burstow, Richard Clifton, Margaret Court, Vincent Galligan, Patrick McManus, Hamish Pollock, Jason Reynolds, Tony Shields and Graham Whitham

 

Resolved: That Tree Preservation Order (TPO) 2015/02 be confirmed.
