Approval of Sutton Health and Care
The report was presented by Dr Imran Choudhury Director of Public Health and Michelle Rahman Interim Managing Director of Sutton CCG.
Board Members were advised that the Sutton Health and Care plan would go forward for engagement with wider stakeholders and in the autumn, form part of a wider document for all South West London boroughs . This work would enable the London Borough of Sutton to describe how health services can be provided in the community.
Members sought clarification on the ambition in the plan in particular regarding combating loneliness and how this linked to wider strategic activities. The officers responded accordingly.
In debate the Board members discussed impacts on people with learning disabilities and particular reference was made to the very rich provider market in Sutton and the plan to shape the market to respond to individual needs with a range of support options.
In discussion members suggested that unpaid carers - should be visible as part of this work and recommend that they should be referenced within this report. Dr Choudhury confirmed the point had been taken on board and a paragraph had been added within the report. Councillor Marian James highlighted that it could be included on page 18 where partners are listed.
