Chantelle Swaby, Locality Lead Officer, will present a report to the Committee, which outlines new public realm schemes for approval and gives an update on the progress of current schemes.
Locality Lead Officer Chantelle Swaby presented the Area Improvement and Public Realm Progress report. With regards to schemes already undertaken, the Officer reported that trees in Cuddington Recreation Ground and Dorchester Recreation Ground had already been planted and this would be reported in the next meeting as completed schemes. All other schemes are on track for completion by their planned dates.
Ian Price, Highways and Transport Officer, stated that the work from the public engagement sessions at the last meeting is ongoing and would be reported on at the next meeting. A brief overview of the Church Hill Road speed surveys was given, with the Chair interjecting that a reason for the delayed investigation was speed bumps being put in at the wrong height. Other items concerned minor parking schemes and requests for yellow lines. Nearly all these items were included in the current round of traffic management orders advertised. The statutory consultation period of these orders ended on the 11March and comments are currently under review before deciding which actions need to be recommended to Members.
The Locality Lead Officer then highlighted completed schemes. No new unfunded schemes had been added but the Locality Lead Officer reminded the Members and community representatives that the budget allocation meeting is set for the 20 April 2016, 7pm at the Civic Centre. The total sum remaining in the allocation for this Committee for the year was £7731.
Councillor Bourne suggested that the Locality Lead Officer remind those present of the possible projects which could be put forward at the budget allocation. The officer referred to the project information document which had already been e-mailed with a deadline of the 21 March 2016.
Resolved: That the Cheam North and Worcester Park Local Committee:
1. Notes the progress of current 2015/16 schemes.
