Homelessness Strategy pdf icon PDF 137 KB

This report puts forward for the Committee’s approval a new homelessness strategy for the borough. It takes into account the outcomes of a consultation on a draft of the strategy that took place during January and February. The draft was also considered by, and takes into account the views of, a Task and Finish Group of Members drawn from both the Housing, Economy and Business Committee and the People Committee, which met twice during February 2020.

Sutton Housing Partnership Delivery Plan 2020/21 pdf icon PDF 141 KB

The Housing, Economy and Business Committee is invited each year to approve the Annual Delivery Plan of the Council’s Arms Length Management Organisation or ALMO, Sutton Housing Partnership (SHP). The Delivery Plan is produced in accordance with the provisions of the Management Agreement between the Council and SHP, which was renewed last year. This report seeks Member approval of SHP’s proposed Delivery Plan for 2020/21.

As part of the Ambitious for Sutton pledge to deliver more affordable housing to meet the borough’s needs, the Council has produced and consulted on a new ‘Affordable Housing and Financial Viability Supplementary Planning Document (SPD)’. The SPD has been prepared to provide further details on how the Local Plan’s affordable housing policy will be applied, how the council will assess financial viability appraisals, and the information that applicants are required to include in planning application submissions.
