In respect of the aforementioned application, Councillor Galligan declared a non-pecuniary interest, as Lindbergh Play Centre was part of the Limes College, where his daughter was a teacher. He explained that he could approach this application with objectivity and this would not affect his decision.

    Erection of a log cabin within the curtilage of Lindbergh Play Centre.

    The report was taken as read.

     

    Members asked for clarification on the following points:

    • Potential noise emanating from the erection of the log cabin. Officers confirmed that they did not consider any harm in terms of noise, it would be situated quite a distance from the boundary and incidental to the use of the main building with no increase in staff and pupils.

     

    • Disability access to the main cabin. Officers noted that the layout of the plan for the portal cabin was acceptable and there are no accessibility issues.

    Erection of a part one, part two storey rear extension.

    The Committee considered a report on the above application for the erection of a part one, part two storey rear extension. The Officer presented the report to the committee.

     

    Members asked whether work on the current loft conversion under permitted development could be done without being incorporated into the full planning application. The Officer responded that it would be difficult to do this separately, the nature of the extension affects the roof form and it would be a struggle to add a dormer under permitted development. The Officer further noted that they would have to see a proposal for a new addition to the roof in order to establish whether or not it could be done under permitted development.
