We object to Sutton Council implementing the part closure of
Ruskin Drive and Colborne Way by making Ruskin Drive ‘No
Access’ from Cheam common road (ANPR camera) and Colborne Way
‘No Access’ from Cheam common road (ANPR camera) or by
using any other means to close these roads.
Sutton Councils citizen space consultation for the Browning Avenue bus gate scheme shows that 86% of respondents object to it.
This has been the only official way for residents to give their feedback on the scheme and the consultation shows that the vast majority want to see it removed!
Closing more roads to counter the increase in traffic and pollution the bus gate has caused is not the answer.
Sutton Council and Councillors have said that if the scheme isn’t working and the feedback shows it’s not wanted then it will be removed. The consultation shows the vast majority have objected and the data shows that traffic and pollution levels have increased in surrounding roads, therefore the scheme isn’t working and should be removed!
We object to the closure of Ruskin Drive and Colborne Way and call for the immediate removal of the ‘temporary’ Browning Avenue bus gate.
