Reduce traffic speed on Park Lane, Boundary Road, Parkgate Road and Ruskin Road

We the undersigned petition the council to consider speed calming measures for Park Lane, Boundary Road, Parkgate Road and Ruskin Road The speed of traffic on these roads regularly exceeds 30mph and there have been a large number of incidents as a result of this including: Road accidents Damage to parked cars Damage to property Pet cats killed or injured having been run over

Park Lane is also part of the National Cycle network and should be improved with the safety of cyclists in mind.

Park Lane and Ruskin Road are regularly used as walking routes by children to school and the current bollard crossing on Ruskin Road next to Carshalton Park requires improvement to increase safety. Children are often left waiting for a long time to be able to cross the road safely. On one side of the road cars start to divide into two lanes ahead of the lanes painted on the road for the traffic lights at the junction with Park Lane. This causes a hazard where a car taking up one side of the road may stop to allow pedestrians to cross at the bollards but another car may still proceed on the inside, and often do so driving over the pavement.

We urgently need the situation to be improved for the safety of all with the introduction of speed calming measures such as a 20mph limit.
